Agridrive Nigeria Ltd specializes in mechanization service provision, inputs support and agribusiness technical backstopping. Agridrive Nigeria Ltd has a fleet of Tractors and implements that it uses to provide mechanization services to farmers across Nigeria. Agridrive Nigeria Ltd is currently operating in Oyo, Ogun, Osun and Ekiti states. Agridrive Nigeria Ltd is looking to recruit a suitably qualified person for the position of Operations Manager. This position will be resident in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Job Description
The Operations Manager will be part of the management team for our mechanization service provision business currently being done in Nigeria. We are currently operating in Southwest Nigeria and expanding to other regions. Reporting to the Deputy Country Manager the Operations Manager is to ensure efficient and effective provision of mechanization services and other agribusiness solutions to clients. Working with the Deputy Country Manager, he or she will be required to:
- Identify clients and their agribusiness needs
- Oversee and manage company projects assigned to him or her, preparing budgets and managing the resources for efficient and profitable service delivery.
- Supervise the provision of mechanization services including the sourcing and delivery of Inputs (seeds. fertilizers and herbicides).
- Ensure safe use, maintenance and servicing of Agridrive equipment
- Maintain equipment register and coordinate the training of operators in efficient service provision, use and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
- Monitor and track the use of the tractors to increase efficiency and reduce abuse o Serve as primary point of contact when there are customers’ complaints and issues related to equipment quality, customer service, accidents and mishaps on the farms.
- Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
- Maintain and update Market Information Support System and enhance use by clients o Participate in regular customer reviews and respond to customer concerns or requests with a benchmark of resolving non-complex Issues within own control within 24 hours.
- Work closely with Country Manager and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation.
- Prepare and submit periodic operation reports to the Deputy Country Manager.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Agric Engineering, Agribusiness or Business Management, Marketing or related field.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in the commercial/agribusiness sector providing agribusiness solutions to farmers. Hands on experience in farm mechanization service provision, agro-inputs marketing and management, public relations, handling and maintenance of farm machinery and working with farmers in a commercial and rural environment is highly desirable.
- Experience in records keeping, report writing, budgeting and presentation, using relevant computer applications and the internet; team management and multi-tasking.
